In fact, the name dolphin is originally from the Greek word ‘delphis’, a close relative to the Greek ‘delphus’, a word that literally means womb. I find this synchronicity absolutely magical.

Dolphins and humans have been involved with one another since ancient times. Greek mythology universally depicted them as helpers of humankind, and their appearance was seen as a good omen by sailors. The god Dionysus once transformed his captors into dolphins so they would spend the rest of their lives helping others, and dolphins were the preferred messengers and errand runners for Poseidon.
