Welcome to Sage Goddess Apothecary 2024!

We’ve been bringing you magical tools for 12 years now (almost 13!), but these are different — the ingredients, the process, and the intention. And they’re aligned to our brand new themes for this year in our classes, which are also new, refreshed, and completely reimagined.

Each month, we’ll be working with a different Goddess archetype as a sacred guide and the lessons she brings. We’ll also be taking a deep dive into the mystical and healing associations of the herbs, flowers, and resins associated with each archetype — exploring them in a way that we never have before. Touching them, smelling them, healing with them, and even creating art with them.

In herbalism, there are three primary approaches to learning the ancient traditions: The first is humanist, meaning that herbs work for us energetically and in terms of our health when we believe they do. The humanist approach is a bit like the placebo effect. This approach suggests that magic is not so much ‘in the medicine’ but in the person who works with the herbs themselves and is a mental process. The second approach is called the physical approach, and the theory here is that plants and herbs have specific physical properties that can be activated by anyone, anywhere, and have the same basic effects. The third approach is animist, which is the approach we will be taking here together. In the animist school of herbalism, the world of nature is alive with spirits, and it is the interaction, alchemy, and synergy of our magic plus the magic of the herbs that creates healing.

In January Apothecary, we’re focusing on two archetypes: Lilith and Eve. Through them, we’ll be exploring themes of primordial wisdom, the cost of wisdom, and setting boundaries in love. Figures from Judeo-Christian mythology, Lilith and Eve embody diverse aspects of femininity, autonomy, and wisdom. Lilith’s defiance against Adam signifies the primal quest for personal freedom, while Eve’s daring choice to embrace forbidden knowledge represents the pursuit of enlightenment in spite of consequences.

You will receive the following in your kit:

One (1) Neem Wood Offering Bowl (about 6-8”), custom-made just for Sage Goddess. This elegant bowl comes wrapped in a copper band stamped with the SG logo. An offering bowl serves as a sacred vessel — a conduit between the material and spiritual realms, symbolizing reverence, gratitude, and connection with the Divine. This will serve as our offering bowl for the entire year, collecting all of our offerings in one place. We’ll be adding herbs, seeds, flowers, crystals, incense, and other objects that align with our monthly intentions. As we do so, the bowl itself becomes a sacred space — a focal point where the tangible and intangible intersect, resonating with the vibrations of the offerings and the intentions behind them.

• Neem wood enhances spiritual connections and intuition, facilitates a deeper connection to higher realms, and encourages spiritual growth and insight. The neem tree is known for its resilience and ability to thrive in adverse conditions, symbolizing the power to endure hardships and emerge stronger.
• Copper conducts and channels the flow of positive energy throughout a space, especially the body, and magnifies energetic transfer. It also helps you recognize and release obstacles and barriers keeping you from growing and following your highest path. 

One (1) pair of Gemstone Apples (each about 1”), custom-made just for Sage Goddes with stones sourced from China. This apple duo includes a red jasper apple to represent Eve and a black obsidian apple to represent Lilith. Each apple features sparkling zircon adorning the leaves. Linked to goddesses of love and fertility, apples symbolize rebirth and cyclical transformation, mirroring both Eve’s pursuit of wisdom and Lilith’s unwavering independence. The apple encapsulates the enduring essence of feminine power and the eternal cycle of life.

• Red jasper is a stone of regeneration that activates the Earth Star and Root Chakras. Its stunning, deep red coloring and swirling pigment remind me of the very blood flowing within our veins — the warm life pumping through. Red jasper is restorative, calming, and strengthening. It grounds and connects you with the Earth while creating both stability and emotional balance in your life.
• Black obsidian is a powerfully protective and cleansing Earth Star and Root Chakra stone. It forms a shield of protective energy that abates and absorbs negative frequencies and blocks psychic attacks. Black obsidian is a grounding stone that’s a source of comfort during times of mourning and letting go.
• Zircon is the oldest mineral on the planet and one of the best stones for manifestation. It grounds energy into matter and brings about spontaneous manifestation. Zircon is even mentioned in the Old Testament, where it was used as a magical ornament in the book of Exodus.

One (1) Sapphire Duo (each about 0.25-0.5”), with natural orange sapphire sourced from Mozambique to represent Eve and natural black sapphire to represent Lilith.

• Orange Sapphire expands spiritual vision to connect with the power of wisdom and inspiration coming from the Divine. It supports you in bringing ideas into reality and birthing them into the world, manifesting inspiration for your highest good.
• Black sapphire is a grounding and protective stone that wards off negativity and helps you maintain calm throughout chaotic situations. It brings trust and confidence in your intuitive abilities. This stone helps foster psychic attunement and is known as a teaching stone, helping you tap into your deep well of wisdom.

One set of January Apothecary Herbs, chosen specially to align with and enhance the energies of our monthly themes and archetypes. These herbs will come lovingly packaged in brown glass vials (each about 4” tall) with cork stoppers adorned with the Sage Goddess Apothecary logo. For January, you will receive the following herbs:

• Pomegranate powder (about 15 g). Pomegranate is associated with fertility, mystery, beauty, and immortality. It represents abundance and the inherent wisdom gained through experience and knowledge.
• Black Cohosh (about 20 g). Black cohosh — also known as snakeroot — is known for its use in women’s health and as a remedy for various ailments, particularly those associated with menopause. It brings balance and stability to your emotions and energy, helping you find equilibrium during times of transition. It also promotes feminine empowerment and fosters a deeper connection with your intuition and inner strength.
• Amber resin (about 15 g). Amber is a fossilized tree resin that dates back over 120 million years. Heat and pressure transform it first into copal and eventually into amber. This alchemical process infuses it with the power of the Sun, burning away lower vibrations and bringing energies of wellness and optimism. It’s a deeply protective ally that prevents psychic attacks, heals soul trauma, and readily repels anything dark.

One (1) set of January Apothecary Oils (each about 1 ml). Like the herbs, these oils have been thoughtfully chosen with intention to support and elevate the month’s themes and evoke the energies of the month’s archetypes. Each comes lovingly poured into an amber-colored glass bottle with a roller ball applicator and black lid. For January, you will receive the following oils:

• Rosehip seed oil helps even out skin tone and fade dark spots while reducing the appearance of wrinkles. It also brings healing and protection, boosts psychic powers, and enhances feelings of love.
• Pomegranate seed oil boosts collagen production, enhances skin elasticity, reduces the appearance of scarring, and promotes the reversal of skin damage. It’s also regenerative and stirs feelings of love and compassion.
• Styrax is a sacred oil and a fixative, making it linger aromatically for great lengths of time. It’s been used in incense, perfume, and medicine since ancient times. Styrax brings grounding and mental clarity and enhances inner visions. It enhances psychic ability and helps you move between realms with ease and stability.

One (1) set of January Apothecary Offerings to add to your offering bowl during our sessions. Each offering will come lovingly packaged in a burlap drawstring bag adorned with the Sage Goddess Apothecary logo. For January, you will receive pumpkin seeds, rosehips, and dried apple slices. The properties of rosehip and apple are described above.

• Pumpkin seeds attract prosperity, financial well-being, and abundance in all areas of life. They represent new beginnings, growth, and transformation and create a protective shield against negative energies and influences.

One Apothecary Jar (about 4.5”, holds about 125 ml) custom-made just for Sage Goddess to blend some of your herbs and oils into a magical incense. This round glass jar with a glass cap is painted a beautiful teal color. Teal resonates with the element of water and the Throat Chakra, bringing flow to communication and learning. Think of the way an ocean moves. It flows free and wild, surging with a natural tide, allowing and not resisting.

One (1) Altar Cloth (about 24×24”). This altar cloth is printed with art custom-made by my talented team of designers, featuring the Apothecary logo, botanical art of plants we will be working with throughout the year, and a collection of other magical symbols that we will explore in classes. 

One (1) set of three Herbal Oracle Cards (about 4×6”) featuring stunning graphics created by my talented team of artists. Each month, you’ll receive an additional three cards, enabling you to gradually assemble a complete herbal oracle card deck by the year’s end. Every card showcases both the metaphysical connections and properties of the herb, alongside an oracle message tailored to each herb’s essence. In January, you will receive cards for pomegranate, black cohosh, and amber.
