Our April AroMagic Kit: Herbs and Oils for manifestation and clarity is here! AroMagic is my new co-ed course on aromatherapy and herbal magic. Each month, we will learn about two essential oils and two herbs that relate to a central theme. In April our theme is manifestation and clarity. Members will learn not only what the metaphysical properties and uses of the herbs and oils are, but how to use them to make DIY products for at-home use.
This kit is aligned with the herbs and oils we will study in April, our third month of class. Aromatherapy is one of my soul passions and talents, and I hope to share it with as many of you as possible. With this listing, you can purchase the herbs and oils we are going to cover in class. Because essential oils come from plants, they carry the energetic properties of the plant they were extracted from. So when you work with these sacred tools, you’re layering the energy of the plant medicine with the magic of aromatherapy. This is where the olfactory system, which is strongly linked to our deepest subconscious, comes in. We can literally tap into our deepest memories through the power of scent.
First, the herbs of April. You will receive one (1) tin each of these loose herbs: kola nut and spearmint. Now, I can’t reveal too much here because we will be covering these herbs in our classroom in April.
Kola nut (Cola vera)
Native to the tropical regions of West Africa, the kola tree is a close relative of the cocoa tree, and the nuts are arranged in seed pods quite similar to those of cacao. Kola still enjoys a much revered status as a sacred plant in its native regions amongst the Yoruba tradition. ‘Kola brings life’ is a common saying, and the fruits of the tree are ceremonially shared as a sign of peace and honor, as a welcome to friends or strangers, to seal deals, and even to seek favor with the family of one’s bride to be. This sacred plant brings clarity and mental concentration, which will align nicely with our April work.
Spearmint (Mentha spicata)
Mint is one of the most popular culinary and medicinal herbs in the US. Who hasn’t had a cup of mint tea to soothe a troubled stomach? Mints come from the genus Mentha which is comprised of somewhere between 13 and 18 species of plant. Mint is invigorating, restoring our ability to hope. It helps to opens up the breath and Heart Chakra while reviving the mind. Essentially, mint gets us moving, which we need to do if we are going to work the manifestation magic.
The oils we will work with in February are hemlock spruce and clary sage. You will receive one (1) dram each of these oils.
Hemlock spruce (Tsuga canadensis)
Spruce thrives in the cold, wet climate of North America. It is commonly found in Canada from the Atlantic Coast to the Pacific Coast, in some of the northern states of the continental U.S., and in Alaska, Labrador, and Newfoundland. Because of its pleasant earthy scent, its calming and clarifying effects, as well as its ability to ease anxiety and stress, hemlock spruce is also a favorite in meditation rituals like grounding.
Clary sage (Salvia sclarea)
Clary Sage is closely related to common garden sage but as an essential oil proves much less toxic. This oil is often used as a stress reliever and helps to keep life’s problems emotionally at bay. It relaxes both body and mind, bringing clarity and ease. It is often used to enhance vision and clarity of the Third Eye. Join us in April to learn more about it!
