Bring the magic of the sun into your home with these beautifully crafted wooden suns! Handmade in Indonesia from suar wood, each of these suns features a different design in the center – ranging from the Buddha, to Ganesha, to a dragon, and more! In total, there are five designs you can choose from, each bringing its own energy, message, and medicine to your altar, office, or sacred space.

The deeper magic of these wooden suns

Suar wood — also known as Samanea Saman, Albizian Saman or Monkeypod — comes from a large tropical rain tree that grows up to 25m. A durable wood, suar wood features a beautiful criss-crossed intertwined pattern and is highly resistant to cracking. Robust, somewhat heavy, and extremely strong, suar wood is a favorite amongst many craftsmen and designers because of its hardiness and striking woodgrains. It is particularly suited for carving.

Each of these magical wooden suns features a different carving, making each piece unique and one of a kind. The Buddha brings the message of enlightenment, grace, healing, and transcendence. The word “Buddha” is a title that means “one who is awake.” A buddha is free from greed, hatred, and ignorance, and is instead characterized by wisdom, compassion and freedom. Ganesha is the elephant-headed, ancient Hindu god of success and the great remover of obstacles. Ganesha paves the way for success and achievement and brings the Divine Masculine presence of beauty and appreciation for the bounty that surrounds us. He embodies benevolence and empowers us to proceed on our soul path, so that we may fulfill our Highest Calling.

In Asian history, the dragon is considered the ultimate symbol of Chi (life energy). The dragon is a master of the four elements — Earth, Fire, Wind, Water — and is considered to be the embodiment of primordial power bringing a message of honesty, courage and a reminder for you to move through life with the strength of a peaceful warrior. The elephant is a revered creature in cultures throughout the world and is heralded for its impeccable memory, quiet strength, power, and endurance. The elephant brings more mental agility, power, responsibility, and a healthy dose of good luck as you forge ahead with new creative endeavors and pursuits.

This listing is for one (1) wooden sun, about 7-8” in size. There are five wooden sun options to choose from: Buddha, elephant, Ganesha, dragon, or a Buddha head.
