These Kuchi anklets were made in the ways of the Kuchi people – an Afghani tribe of nomads known not only for their nomadic existence, but also for their vibrant energy, creative life-force, and colorful garb. Their exuberant, often-jingling head-to-toe adornment has come to be frequently employed by belly dancers, who share a kinship with the Kuchi people.
The name of this nomadic clan, Kuchi, means “migrate” in Persian or Farsi. You can understand why these anklets not only honor this people, but also symbolize a state of being. A nomadic state of brazen and blissful wandering.
The magic of these Kuchi anklets
While the Kuchi people still wander the deserts of Afghanistan and Pakistan in smaller numbers today, they have existed since ancient times. As such, modern jewelry made in their tradition captures centuries-old design. And these anklets I’m offering you are no different. They’re fashioned from a comfortable 10.5” stretch of soft fabric, hedged and bejeweled with beads and bells.
Wearing these anklets will conjure the magic of ageless, golden sand dunes, rising and falling in the wind. And with each step you take on your journey, or with each fluid dancing motion, they will make beautiful music.
These anklets come in a variety of different colors and designs. Please allow us to intuitively choose for you.
This listing comes with TWO (2) Kuchi anklets, about 10.5″ in size. Yours will arrive lovingly parceled for your enjoyment.
Wild and beautiful blessings,
Athena
