January Month of Magic: Ehwaz and Mannaz

For the January Month of Magic, Sage Goddess is proud to offer this exciting new addition to our magical wellspring, a beautiful Ehwaz and Mannaz Rune set. We have greatly expanded our knowledge of runes throughout the past months, and I am excited to continue exploring their power and symbolism with you. Runes have been used in many magical ways since the beginning of recorded history. They’re a primordial form of psychological assessment, and were cast and read by oracles in the same way Tarot cards or the I Ching are used today.

Runes are derived from the ancient Celtic and Viking alphabet, and traces can be heard in modern German. However, Runic was probably never a spoken language. From their earliest inception, runes were used as a magical and ritualistic form of communication. Runic deciphering was an elite language for magical practitioners.

The Magic of Ehwaz and Mannaz Runes

This month we will decipher two runes: Ehwaz and Mannaz. Ehwaz is the rune of partnership, and symbolizes marriage –  marriage between your heart and mind; Spirit and body; and your current or future partnerships – reflective of your own emotional evolution. When you embody your true self, you find your true mate. Mannaz is the rune of humanity – reminding us of our collective power, revealed through the transcendent bond we share with each other, and our ancestors. Understanding this sparks the hope that ignites our unbreakable spirit.

Your January Month of Magic set will include the following tools:

First in this set is a pair of wooden tealight holders carved from maple and etched with the runes of Ehwaz and Mannaz. You will love incorporating these beautiful treasures into all of your ritual work. You will also receive 1 intuitive tea light per rune in an organza bag.

After that, you’ll receive two wooden runes (made of sassafras or maple) printed with the symbols for Ehwaz and Mannaz, about 1-1/2″ in diameter. Your pair of runes include a leather card describing their meanings. Please note that this is genuine leather which will age and change over time.

Next, you will receive a duo of Ehwaz and Mannaz perfumes. My Ehwaz perfume has notes of amber for balance, harmony, and inspiration; cedarwood for balance, rebirth, and healing; geranium for assurance, tranquility, and love. My Mannaz perfume has notes of black pepper endurance, stamina, fearlessness, motivation, and strength; ginger for increasing energy, personal power, and luck; bergamot for stimulating joy and happiness. Both perfumes come in 15mL square bottles, and are infused with clear quartz chip stones to amplify their properties.

Lastly, you will receive two stones: a piece of fuchsite in correspondence with Ehwaz and a piece of green lace jasper for Mannaz. Fuchsite is the stone of soulmate connection, passion, heart healing, and strength. Green lace jasper is the stone of support; known as the supreme nurturer, green lace jasper carries tranquility within.
