New Year’s Eve is a time of cleansing; making way for new beginnings by letting go of what no longer serves you. 1) Support others
When we express ourselves and support others in their expression, we shift the energy in our souls and the world around us. When we realize that we as a collective have the ability to make miracles happen, we birth acceptance – acceptance of ourselves and acceptance of those around us who deserve the support.
2) Give yourself permission
Give yourself permission to say no. Give yourself permission to say yes. Give yourself permission to stop doing things that you don’t want to do. Are you reading a highly-praised New York Times Bestseller you can’t stay awake through? Give yourself permission to stop reading it. Are you unhappy with your job? Give yourself permission to leave. Do you have the urge to take a new class? Give yourself permission to take it on! Whatever it is, give yourself permission to do so, and see where that decision takes you.
3) Complete your projects
Do you find yourself setting the same goals year after year and not quite seeing them to an end? Channel your inner fire and finally see it to completion. Ponder your false starts and set an intention to see them through. Recall old projects that weren’t finished, and declare NOW is the time to release and complete them. What are you ready to finish next year?
4) Explore your creativity
Creativity is not limited to “artists”. Creativity is about connection and discovering new ways to bond with yourself and others. It’s about having an open mind to go about your passions in a unique way. In what ways do you do things differently? How do you express your creativity? Is it the way you talk to others? Have you ever seen the movie Yes Man? Jim Carrey chooses a life of loneliness after his fiance breaks his heart. One day, an old colleague drags him to see a motivational speaker who helps him enlist the word “ yes” to every and any venture. Jim Carrey then says yes to everything, and watches his life transform for the better. Sounds dramatic and it is, but if you use the philosophy to your advantage, you will literally see your life transform in front of your eyes. Say yes and put yourself out there. It’s amazing what you will discover and how your perspective will shift.
