The Sage Goddess Gemology Certification Program is a 7-month immersive journey into the wisdom, science, history, and healing properties of crystals and gemstones designed to prepare you to expand your crystal healing practice or train as a facilitator to teach others. Organized around the seven chakras, this certification program guides students in a deep exploration of the stones most aligned with each chakra, and in learning how to work with them for healing, transformation, and spiritual growth.

More than a chakra course, this is a comprehensive introduction to gemology through the Sage Goddess lens. Students will explore the energetic, emotional, physical, structural, and spiritual qualities of crystals, while also diving into the true nature of the stones themselves: how they form, their mineral structure and composition, crystal systems, sacred geometry, color correspondences, historical and cultural uses, geological origins, and the unique properties that make each stone special.

Each month focuses on one chakra, beginning with the Root Chakra and culminating with the Crown Chakra. Within each chakra module, students will study the most important stones associated with that energy center and learn:

The energetic and metaphysical properties of each crystal
The mineral structure, composition, and crystal family of the stone
How the stone forms in the Earth and where it is found
The history, mythology, and cultural significance of the crystal
How to identify, select, cleanse, charge, and work with crystals
How to use crystals alongside aromatherapy, sound healing, ritual, meditation, and energy work
How each stone supports emotional healing, spiritual development, and chakra balance

Students who join the SG gemologist track will receive an exhaustive training in all aspects of applied crystal training; students who complete the facilitator or teacher training program will learn the SG gemologist content plus receive in-depth, university-level training in curriculum design and delivery and will design their own unique crystal program with Athena’s help and guidance.

Gemologist Path

Learn about the top current cosmic events – what they mean, how to handle them, and how to grow
through them, along with a deep dive into personalized astrology topics.

A 3-hour monthly class focused on crystal education, chakra healing, and personal energetic development. Students will gain a strong foundation in gemstone knowledge and learn how to work with crystals in their own healing practice and daily life.

Each monthly session also includes a fourth hour featuring live crystal readings, guided journeys, or sound healing experiences to deepen integration and connection

Facilitator Path

An additional 2-hour monthly extension, plus practicum sessions, is designed for students who wish to guide others in crystal healing work.
Students will learn how to safely and ethically facilitate crystal healing sessions, hold sacred space, create chakra-healing layouts and rituals, guide others through energetic processes, and confidently share crystal wisdom with clients, students, and the community.

The Facilitator Path includes:

I’m Athena, and I’m your guide for Gemology! Over the last 15 years, I have helped more than 11,000 members of our online community discover brighter, new versions of themselves through my online classes. I have invested my entire adult life in the study of human potential. My expertise bridges the gap between adult learning and the spiritual world. I was an award-winning university professor with expertise in teacher training and curriculum design for 15 years before becoming an executive coach in the private sector and then turning my attention to online teaching in what I love most: energetic and spiritual transformation. After I was diagnosed with MS in 2010, I realized that it was time to align my personal and professional desires and start living into my full authentic self without fear. I launched Sage Goddess after setting a new moon intention in the spring of 2011, and the rest is a beautiful history that even inspires me. Magic is real, and my life is proof. My passion is taking magical people to the next level of their practice and helping them live full, embodied, and authentic lives. Do I need prior experience with crystals or chakra healing?

– No prior experience is required. The program is designed for beginners as well as experienced students who want a deeper understanding of crystals, gemstones, and chakra healing.

Are the classes live?

– Yes. All classes are taught live and are also available on demand, so you can participate in real time or watch whenever it works best for you.
If you miss a class, you will have access to the replay and can return to it anytime throughout the program.

Can I watch the program on my own schedule?

– Absolutely. Every class, training, and healing session is recorded and available on demand, allowing you to move through the program at your own pace.

What if I join late or miss a month?

– You can purchase past classes and previous chakra modules at any time to get caught up. This makes it easy to join the program after it has begun or revisit earlier material whenever you would like.

What happens if I start with the SG Gemologist Path and later want to become a Facilitator?

Will we only study the chakras?

– No. While the chakras provide the structure for the program, this is also a true introduction to gemology through the Sage Goddess lens.
– You will study the science, formation, structure, geology, history, and cultural significance of crystals in addition to their energetic and healing properties.
