November is Native American heritage month. Various ideas have been proposed since 1915 by Native and non-Native peoples alike – including several presidents –  to designate a special day to honor the significant contributions that our Native peoples have made to this country. It wasn’t until 1990 that President George H.W. Bush approved a joint resolution to designate the month of November as National American Indian Heritage Month.

In the spirit of commemoration, I have created this special White Buffalo Calf Woman candle. Accompanied by a powerful blessing, this candle is a powerful tool you can use in ritual and meditation to not only honor our Native ancestors, but to offer your love, light, and healing energies. To say that our Native peoples have been treated poorly throughout our nation’s history is a remarkable understatement. The tragedy continues to this day. I’m sure you’re all familiar with the Dakota Access Pipeline and the situation at Standing Rock. To learn more about how you can help, go here.

Goddesses, you can do something. Your energy matters. The positivity and good intentions in your hearts can affect our reality for the better. This White Buffalo Calf Woman candle will help you connect to the wisdom of our Native peoples, and it can also empower comprehension, understanding, and healing energies for every single sentient being who has ever called this land their home.

The magic of your White Buffalo Calf Woman candle

Are you familiar with White Buffalo Calf Woman? You can read more about her here. The legend of White Buffalo Calf Woman was born some 2,000 years ago, and is an integral component of the spiritual practices of numerous Native American nations. In short, she was a holy woman who appeared during times of famine, and taught the Lakota seven sacred ceremonies, showed them how to pray and prepare food, and gave them the Chanunpa/Chanupa/C’anupa, or sacred ceremonial pipe. After guiding the people towards Higher Truth, White Buffalo Calf Woman left, promising that one day she would return.

This three layered, White Buffalo Calf Woman candle was hand-rolled right here at our SG Headquarters, and was lovingly anointed with my Tobacco absolute perfume. The center is French blue, the middle is natural, and the outside layer is a beautiful summer yellow. Rolled with an obsidian chipstone and decorated with custom SG White Buffalo Calf Woman artwork, I know you will love incorporating this candle into all your ritual work.

Goddesses, this is time for all of us to come together, past and present. May this White Buffalo Calf Woman candle and accompanying blessing help create a future that will reflect the pure love and light that is Source.

***If you feel drawn to working with this tool to commemorate Native American heritage month, I highly recommend my American Ancestors Ceremonial Spirit Kit.***

This listing is for one (1) White Buffalo Calf Woman candle. Yours will arrive lovingly gift wrapped for your enjoyment, along with one white sage leaf you can use to clear energies before working.

Candle Blessings,

Athena
