I went hunting for South African bloodstone in Tucson recently and found some great specimens! Now I am so excited to be able to offer these beautiful and rare tumbled stones. You know, I always love the link between gemstones,history and folklore. These blood jaspers – which originate in South Africa (as the name implies) are really some of the most intriguing stones in my collection. Bloodstone is a variety of deep-green chalcedony, a crypto-crystalline quartz, flecked with red jasper.
