As part of my Triple Goddess Harvest series, I created this Triple Goddess Canvas – a stunning custom-made SG original artwork canvas filled with symbolism to honor the harvest season and its three holidays: Lammas, Mabon, and Samhain. This canvas is the base for all three of our Triple Goddess Harvest sets, intended to be used to hold all the tools for Lammas, Mabon, and Samhain, creating one mega altar. It features the three goddesses we’re working with – Persephone, the maiden, for Lammas, Demeter, the mother, for Mabon, and Hecate, the crone, for Samhain. You can also work with this canvas to grid or adorn your shadow and harvest season altars or sacred space.

The deeper magic of this Triple Goddess Canvas

The left side of this Triple Goddess Canvas symbolizes Lammas and the dawn. This is the first harvest celebration of the season, honoring the Goddess Persephone, the maiden. Lammas is the lightest part of shadow season. Night force is gaining strength now, but we’re still in the light or above the horizon symbolically. Astrologically, it’s Leo season. Persephone personifies joy, freedom, life, and every flourishing seed. She’s the maiden, the one who is still in her youth and shining like the bright sun.

The middle of this canvas, or midday, symbolizes Mabon, the celebration of the second season harvest and honors the Goddess Demeter, the mother. Mabon is also known as the Autumnal Equinox and on this day, daytime and nighttime are of equal length. It’s an energetic cusp of perfect balance, represented by Libra, the ever-seeking sign of balance, and as we cross over, we step into the shadowy half of the year. Here in the Northern Hemisphere, the days grow shorter, the nights grow longer, and the leaves on trees begin to change colors, reminding us that we, too, are going through changes.

The right side of this canvas symbolizes Samhain and midnight, honoring the Goddess Hecate, the crone. The word Samhain means “Summer’s End” in Gaelic. It falls on October 31, marking the end of the harvest season and the beginning of the Celtic New Year. Samhain falls during Scorpio season and is like a velvet curtain between worlds that is both thin and dark, comforting and protective, mysterious and magical, just like Scorpio – the deep and transformative sign. On October 31, we say goodbye one last and final time to what the year has brought and taken from us. Hecate is the Greek goddess of the in-between, the place between life and death, and acts as the guardian of the crossroads. Her gifts are transformation and release, and she stands at the gateway into new possibilities and opportunities.

Work with your Triple Goddess Canvas as a base for your Triple Goddess Harvest tools and to integrate the light and the shadow for wholeness. May you be open to witness the beauty in each of these phases, in your own life and the world around you, and allow yourself to be deeply transformed.

This listing is for one (1) 8×12” Triple Goddess Canvas, as described above. Yours will arrive lovingly parceled, ready for enjoyment.

Blessings,
Athena
