Each month in Sage Goddess Apothecary, we work with a specific Goddess archetype as a sacred guide, delving deeply into the lessons she offers through her mystical and healing associations. It’s an exploration of the herbs, flowers, resins, and gemstones associated with each archetype. Touching them, smelling them, healing with them, and even creating art with them.

In July Apothecary, we’re focusing on the Myrraphore, an ancient group of priestesses of transformation. Together, we’ll work with the tools in this set to attune to themes of balance and rebirth. We’ll focus on honoring ‘death’ in its many forms — because it is essential to start anew.

Who are the Myrraphore?

The Myrraphore was a group of priestesses in Ancient Egypt who worked with oils, such as myrrh, to support sacred transformations. They embraced death as a transition rather than an ending — one that facilitated a pure and hopeful new beginning. The Myrraphore were entrusted with clearing the old, in turn fostering the transcendence of earthly limitations.

Working with the Myrraphores’ medicine opens the channels between worlds. They evoke the ability to see the broader perspective, enabling you to understand the divine balance that exists in everything. Together, we’ll embrace the transformative power of the Myrraphore, clearing what no longer serves to welcome new beginnings of all kinds.

You will receive the following essential oils:

Size: About 1 ml each

We selected these oils to evoke the energies of the Myrraphore priestesses. Each oil is blended with jojoba and comes in a brown glass bottle with a roller ball applicator and gold cap. For July, you will receive three different oils. Your trio will include the following:

• Elemi was used by ancient Egyptians to help transcend the soul to the next realm. It’s also instrumental in helping you move forward into new beginnings.
• Yarrow is a soothing and purifying herb used for healing and relaxation and is a valuable ally for those experiencing a wounded soul.
• Holy basil, also known as tulsi, encourages you to release old patterns that no longer serve and enhances feelings of satisfaction. It’s also clearing and brings calm and good luck.

How to work with this Essential Oil Trio

Add a couple of drops of these essential oils to a diffuser to fill your sacred space with their soothing aromas. Anoint your candles with them during rituals or meditations to channel the priestess of Myrraphore. Alternatively, draw a bath and add a few drops for a soothing, relaxing, and sensual soak.
