Steel Tongue Drum

The tongue drum is a percussion instrument known for its flying saucer shape and soothing, meditative sounds that can be created by playing the drum with mallets or your hands.

Drums have been used in many cultures for centuries and are sacred to a wide variety of spiritual traditions and practices. This tongue drum is tuned to 440 Hz and has eight notes to intuitively create beautiful music, whether you have the technical knowledge or not. Each of the notes on this instrument is tuned to the C major scale, bringing uplifting and positive energy when played. The notes are also associated with different chakras to align your energy centers and raise your vibration as you create beautiful music. The deeper magic of this Steel Tongue Drum

Music triggers our pleasure centers, releasing dopamine — a ‘feel happy’ neurotransmitter. It’s associated with an increase in immunity-boosting antibodies and stress relief. Music is truly universal, connecting us to each other and Spirit. 440 Hz, although not part of the Solfeggio scale, was approved by the American Federation of Musicians in 1917 and later approved through an international agreement to be the standard tone for tuning all musical instruments, ensuring universal uniformity in sound.

The drum is a powerful tool. Traditionally, women would lead ceremonies with the drum for fertility and healing. I work with drums in ritual and to initiate shamanic journey work for others.
