I am so pleased to present this lovely offering, so fit for the spring season. These soapstone scarab bracelets have a striking, seductive look, and are such powerful talismans. Hand-carved from soapstone – the stone of change and transformation – these turquoise-colored scarabs with complimentary black braided bands are a fully adjustable adornment fit for a queen.

As you know, I am a firm believer in sacred adornment. As we move through the blessings of the seasons, rising and falling on our own personal karmic paths, it is always beneficial to bring a little magic with us wherever we go. And what better way to do so than to wear it?

The magic of these soapstone scarab bracelets

The scarab is a sacred symbol dating back to the ancient Egyptians, and it was indeed one of their most popular and powerful totems. You can see scarabs referenced and pictured all over Egyptian buildings, parchments, and relics. Why do you think, dear goddesses, the Egyptians put so much faith, and bestowed so much power, on the scarab and its corresponding image? Well, the answer may surprise you.

The Egyptians, in the course of their daily lives, observed the scarab beetle as it rolled a bit of dung into a perfectly round ball. This purely instinctual procedure reminded them of the actions of Ra, their sun god, who they believed rolled the sun across the sky each day.

Since the rising and setting of the sun was the most important event in their world, bringing forth the all-important warmth and light of life into their civilization which allowed them to grow crops, hunt, build, etc., they placed a similar import on the scarab. This transference made perfect sense to the Egyptians who could draw the connections clearly.

The beetle rolled his ball of sustenance into its brood chamber where its eggs would soon hatch. Once the larvae emerged, they were immediately surrounded by food. In a similar fashion, the sun brought sustenance to the people of Egypt. Hence, the scarab was seen as a symbol of this heavenly cycle and brought forth the idea of abundance, rebirth and regeneration.

This listing is for one (1) soapstone scarab bracelet. Yours will come lovingly parceled with a single leaf of white sage and a card describing the properties of your stone.
