The deeper magic of my Shield Perfume
My Shield Perfume is a protective blend of lavender absolute, palo santo, white sage, sage, and mugwort. Lavender is perhaps one of the best oils to use for purification, protection, and healing rituals. It calms and centers the mind and is a great aid for meditation. Its superior balancing qualities are ideal for overall chakra-balancing. Palo santo is a sacred wood that grows in South America. When Spanish monks discovered its clearing and healing properties, they named it “Palo Santo,” which means “holy wood.” White sage and sage are a sacred herb that’s been used for centuries by elders to clear and consecrate space. White sage is said to draw positive spirits and discourage the presence of any unwanted energy. Most people find the scent of sage grounding and centering. Mugwort is a protective, psychic, magical lunar herb with a long and rich folklore history. It’s been used for hundreds of years in traditional medicine across China, Japan, and Korea. Mugwort is also known as a gateway herb that opens the doors of perception and vision, and is an herb of the Goddess in her crone phase that evokes wisdom and encourages observation.

I have to say, I never buy perfumes or oils without smelling…so I def agonized over which full size to purchase this time around. I’m glad I did because Spirit guided me to Shield. Ive been trying so hard to energetically protect myself over the last 6 months and I can only assume this purchase was a message from Spirit. Shield smells very grounding and protective…the two top notes I can define are Palo Santo and lavender. I feel like a Goddess in armor wearing this. I just ordered my second bottle, as my first is almost used up. It works. You’ll feel safe. I use it every day. The scent is very strong at first, but dries down into a sweet, cinnamon like smell. Good stuff!

I originally ordered a sample of shield due to the fact that I counsel and work in a stressful environment as well as attend school for my doctoral degree. I have worked with some energy draining, toxic people during my schooling. I used this and immediately felt like a shield was over me. The scent reminded me of black licorice, which the color black is known for protection. I love this scent and it’s power to shield, protect, and ground.

I work in a youth residential treatment facility, and often feel the effects of their trauma and emotions, even though I don’t work directly with them. Just par for the course for an empath. This blend enables me to not absorb too much of my work atmosphere, and I can leave my job there, not carrying the energy home with me.

As a reiki practitioner, an empath and an introvert who works a day job with a very open office, I find myself drained pretty often. Shield is a lovely tool to have in my arsenal, and when I’m diligent about using it, I feel safe and supported. I smell the same notes in it as the incense I use to clear my sacred space. I put on the sample today as I had no pockets for my stones. I was in LOVE with this scent. And I was out running errands, and didn’t get overwhelmed, even without my usual protection stones which I forgot as I ran out the door! Will need to get a full size, I just tried the sample.

Shield is amazing…the scent made me feel as though I was being cradles in the depths of mother earth…safe and protected…I am still trying to figure out what that smell is that I cant quite name… I would highly recommend this to anyone wanting a little something extra…but be warned it is potent both in magick and in scent…
