Drums have been used in many cultures for centuries and are sacred to many spiritual traditions and practices. I use mine in ritual and to initiate shamanic journey work for others.
The drum is a powerful tool. Traditionally, women would lead ceremonies with the drum for the purpose of fertility and healing. It is said that ritual drums were often painted red to depict a woman’s menstrual cycle, and some drums even had symbols of the vulva drawn on it. And, the earliest historical record of a drummer was a woman — Lipaushiu, a Sumerian priestess c. 3,000 BC. This Shamanic Drum and Mallet is a beautiful reminder of our return to our innate connection to the drum.

What a great tool for your senses! SG should have shown a second photo with the back. It is beautifully laced in thick cord to allow you to hold it in the middle. This produces a beautiful tone. It comes with a mallet.
I was drawn to hand-made musical instruments in my early adult years. Working with it, & seeing the craftsmanship, it just swells my heart.
