Work with the thinning of the veil and be heard by the ancestors and spirit realms with my Samhain Beeswax Intention Candles! It’s the season of Samhain – the Celtic New Year and origin of Halloween – one of my absolute favorite holidays. It’s a time of regeneration and new beginnings, when we get to gracefully let go of what no longer serves us, and surrender it to the night. These candles, one of the very first beeswax from our original Samhain listing at SG, honor the magic of the old ways. Hand-rolled with loving and sacred intentions, each candle features black and dark orange layers of beeswax. Work with these candles to discover and honor what has died – facing it, properly releasing it, and creating the space for new intentions to be born. Ask your ancestors and spirit guides to assist you in setting the intentions that are best for your life.
The deeper magic of my Samhain Beeswax Intention Candles
The word Samhain means ‘summer’s end’ in Gaelic. It falls on Halloween night and is considered the end of the Celtic year. October has an energy of clearing, cleaning, and preparation. Nature is about to take back within herself what has stopped breathing, what has stopped living. On October 31, we say goodbye one last and final time to what the year has brought and taken from us. It is a grand reconciliation of what you have and what you have lost. Now is the time to say, “I accept the cycles of life and death and somewhere within those cycles, I myself am reborn.”
There’s something entrancing and mystical about a candle’s flame dancing and flickering, moving and swaying with the unseen currents in the air. The original meaning of the word candle comes from a Latin word candere which means “to shine,” and there is evidence showing the use of candles as far back as 3000 BC. Ancient Romans dipped rolled papyrus with a center wick repeatedly in beeswax to form what might look very similar to Sage Goddess candles today! With the discovery and advances of electricity, candles have lost some of their importance in mainstream society. However, those of us who practice magical ritual still make use of and honor the candle. Modern day ceremonies of many religious traditions still incorporate candles as sacred tools. In India it is common tradition to offer oil flames and candles to the gods and goddesses on home altars, giving them the power to illuminate certain matters or aspects.
Work with your Samhain Beeswax Intention Candle in the days leading up to and on October 31, allowing its light to guide and illuminate your rituals. Keep your heart open and trust that your intentions will be heard and felt.
This listing is for one (1) Samhain Beeswax Intention Candle (about 8”). Yours will arrive lovingly parceled, ready for your enjoyment.
Note: Please remove label before burning candle, always use a heatproof dish on a stable surface, and never leave a burning candle unattended.
