Pyrolusite is one of those stones that functions on a deeper level than most of my offerings. It’s a stone for unlocking mysteries. A secondary mineral of manganese oxide, and part of the rutile crystal family, it has a tetragonal crystal system and a hardness of 6-6.5; tetragonal crystals invoke the element of Air and create movement, helping you overcome stagnation.
How to work with pyrolusite
Pyrolusite is above all, a stone for transformation and healing. It balances and cleanses your aura, and is very effective when worn as jewelry. It actually rebuilds energies, to heal dis-ease on both planes. It is strengthening, imparting renewed confidence in the bearer. This is such an important stone for integration, because it is so protective. It literally creates an aura shield around you to repel any negative energy or psychic attack, so you can feel safe and guided when working with your shadow side. It imparts hope and optimism, and renewed determination to get through life’s challenges. And it supports you emotionally during transformation.
Pyrolusite is also an amazing stone for physical healing. It can treat bronchitis, help regulate metabolism, heal eye issues, blood disorders, and transmute illness in both bodies. Keep it on your altar or anywhere you do magical work.
