The name Pachamama literally translates to “Mother Earth” – “pacha” means Earth, cosmos, universe, and “mama” means mother in both Quechua and Aymara languages. Pachamama is the highest divinity of the Andean people because of her role as a protector and her responsibility in ensuring the ripening of crops.
