I should say, before we begin, that I made this Magdalene Incense during our quarantine period and allowed it to soothe and create comfort for me during difficult times. May it offer the same to you. If I make it again, and I’m not sure I can (some of the ingredients were challenging to source) it won’t have the same energy or intention so consider this a limited edition offering. This beautiful incense is a blend of several herbs and resins to support healing, visioning and intuition, and clearing you and your sacred space. Each jar is infused with a tumbled or natural peach morganite for affection, friendship, and companionship, bringing joy, pleasure, and unity. The deeper magic of my Magdalene Incense

Magdalene Incense is inspired by the legend of the woman – the woman who sinned, who was forgiven, and who loved without limit. The woman who cleaned Jesus’ feet with her hair and anointed him with sacred oils and herbal medicines. Magdalene witnessed both the crucifixion of Christ and his resurrection, and legends tell that she was buried near the site where he rose from the dead in the tomb marked simply, Mariamene. This incense is designed to honor the woman, myth, and legend who gave selflessly in service of her faith and who appreciated her gift of forgiveness for her entire life. She walked the talk, did the hard work of transformation, and stood in reverence as she lost the man who brought beauty and salvation to her in her hour of need.

For me, Magdalene is a figure of hope, inspiration, and wisdom. I see in her my own shortcomings, my own inability to walk a path of perfection, but also my own worthiness of salvation and my ability to love and serve a higher purpose. This incense is a gift, a channeled recipe full of ingredients that are true to the time and place of this energy, herbs and resins that she used to anoint his feet and items that would have been available in the time of Christ.

Magdalene incense is a limited edition blend made with Australian sandalwood powder for sweetness, meditation, and connection, two kinds of Ethiopian frankincense – boswellia papyrifera and boswellia carteri – for consecration and dedication of sacred space, angelica root powder for protection, spikenard root for purification and cleansing, Hungarian mugwort for intuition, presence, and visioning, and African acacia resin for healing emotional wounds. Burn it when you feel disconnected from deeper truths, and when you feel ready for forgiveness, connection, and eternal love. And so it is.
