The word Samhain (pronounced Sow-wen) means ‘summer’s end’ in Gaelic and is considered the end of the Celtic year. Samhain is the Velvet Curtain – a metaphor for the veil between worlds that is both thin and dark, comforting and protective, mysterious and magical.
