Are you someone who has trouble setting boundaries or protecting your emotional space? Ishtar, the Mesopotamian goddess of love and war, is your boundary setter. A perfect balance of masculine and feminine energies, her spirit encourages one to hold her ground with grace. Interestingly, Ishtar is the goddess of body boundaries. What’s okay for your body and your field? Who is allowed to enter (you) and how is the entrance to be managed? In our culture, we don’t talk much about boundaries except when they are violated. Outside Western culture, boundaries are discussed in more open and fluid ways. You decide what is allowed near, inside, or around you. You may not articulate this in words, but your energy speaks a thousand words. Think of Ishtar as preventative medicine. She goes ahead, helping open and set the perimeter of your energy field so that you have to do less work. She is there, tending the fire and keeping the space clear. This large size, three-sheet beeswax pillar candle is anointed with Sanctus perfume (a blend white sage, lavender, rose, and rosemary) and wrapped with one of my third eye stones. Safety considerations: As with all my candles, burn ONLY on a heat-proof dish, under constant supervision; and remove the label before burning below the paper line. Use caution and common sense when burning any substance inside your home. Bright Blessings! Athena
