The deeper magic of these Happy Buddha figurines

According to Chinese folklore, the Happy Buddha, also known as Budai, was a much loved Buddhist monk that lived in China over a thousand years ago. Budai was different from all of the other monks because he could often be found laughing and smiling. He spent his life spreading joy to those around him, and was famous for going from one town to another, handing out sweets and toys to children as he blessed them with his contagious laughter. He filled everyone with merriment and constantly reminded those around him to be happy and enjoy life, which is how he got his nickname “Happy Buddha”.

Buddha’s legacy lives on as one of light and plentitude, and representations of his figure are now believed to bring happiness and good fortune to any space. In this particular figure, Budai is depicted cloaked under his robes, glowing with his infamous smile.

This listing is for one (1) hand-painted resin sandstone Happy Buddha, about 3” wide. Yours will come lovingly parceled, ready to bless your space with its magic.

Blessings,
Athena
