Traditionally, a mala is a strand of 108 beads used in meditation and prayer. Mala means “garland” in Sanskrit, and the 108 beads are spiritually significant in India. 108 represents the whole of the universe, according to Vedic cosmology. There are 108 letters used in the Sanskrit alphabet, 108 sacred texts of the Upanishads, 108 holy sites in India, and many more correspondences.

Finally got my first SG Mala and it’s just divine. I knew when I ordered it that it would full of beautiful energy upon coming into my life because of the great care that goes into the products and tools offered through SG.
I’ve never chose to work with rose quarts the times I have used it on my body I would get a head ache, every time, no joke
But recently in the preparation for my upcoming wedding rose quarts among others have been coming into my energy field. I’ve been hesitant. I haven’t even worn the Mala yet, I’m waiting until my wedding day but I am praying with it. I spray the silk with the moon goddess perfume from SG and it’s intoxicating. So so sexy and soothing.

I have had my eye on this one since it came out! I was sad when I found out that half of the beads on the mala I had at home were not real beads… (not from SG) and have wanted a healing mala to do my mantra with in the mornings. This is beautiful and has such a soothing energy!! I love it!! It’s perfect! I even put my favorite perfume (1111) on the silk and now my room smells divine!!

This is my first mala. While I have nothing to compare it to, physically, I can say it looks much nicer than the ones I’m seeing on Etsy. The stones beads are individually knotted, which means should I ever break it, they won’t go flying everywhere. Such an important detail that not all malas have.
I enjoy the combination of healing stones that make up the piece. Who can’t use a little bloodstone, prehnite with epidote, and rose quartz in their life?
One of my favorite parts is the tassel at the bottom being made from sari silk. This is SO MUCH NICER than the scrawny looking fringe-y tassels I normally see on malas. Athena mentioned in the live video that one of the reasons for this is to be able to apply some of her fragrances/essential oils to the fabric, for an additional level of healing. I definitely intend to try this.
My experience with this mala was so good that I went back and bought another of her mala offerings after receiving it. I highly recommend this to anyone who feels called to it. The price is also lower than most on Etsy, that appear to be of a lower quality. Such a good value.
