It’s a variety of deep-green chalcedony, a crypto-crystalline quartz with red jasper flecks. The drops of red that look like blood are really just iron oxide inclusions.
Vogel crystals are named for an extraordinary scientist, Marcel Vogel (1917-1991). A properly cut quartz Vogel crystal is known to grant immediate access to the etheric body, stabilizing it and allowing light to enter from the higher realms.
