These Fire Festival Trilogy Altar Mats are a great tool to work with as we celebrate the magic of Imbolc, Ostara, and Beltane – the next three high holidays. This gorgeous artwork was created by my team of talented designers right here at SGHQ. Imbolc honors the end of winter and points towards the upcoming spring. Ostara is the spring equinox, the day where the light and dark are equal. Beltane honors fertility, abundance, and the union of male and female energies. Place one of these mats on your altar or desk and pair with your crystals, candles, gems, and other tools as you weave through the Wheel of the Year.

The deeper magic of these Fire Festival Trilogy Altar Mats

There are eight holidays of the Wiccan year, also known as the Sabbats, which comprise the Wheel of the Year. The Sabbats consists of four “solar holidays”—the Summer and Winter Solstices and the Spring and Fall Equinoxes that mark the Earth’s annual journey around the Sun—and four “Earth festivals,” which occur in February (Imbolc), May (Beltane), August (Lammas) and October (Samhain). This latter set of Sabbats mark the “cross-quarter days” between the solar points. Each of the cross-quarter Wiccan holidays—Imbolc, Beltane, Lammas, and Samhain — is inspired by older traditional folk festivals that were prominent before the rise of Christianity.

Imbolc, Ostara, and Beltane are all fire festivals. Imbolc is an ancient Celtic festival celebrating the end of winter and approaching spring. This is a time for purification, illumination, and deeply seeded inspiration. It’s a time to let your passion build in support of all you wish to birth in the year ahead. Ostara, or the spring equinox, brings the energy of light, hope, fertility, growth, and new beginnings. It’s the day where we pause to observe the Old Ways, honoring the point of balance between light and dark as we transition to the light-filled part of the year. Beltane means bright fire and in Earth-based traditions, it represents the handfasting, or marriage, of the God and Goddess and their eternal embrace. It honors fertility, abundance, sex, and the growth of everything beautiful on Earth. It is wildly hedonistic and teeming with abundance, fertility, fire, and fun.

May these Fire Festival Trilogy Altar Mats be a beautiful addition to your sacred tools and offerings.

Athena
