The deeper magic of my Down the Rabbit Hole Door Hanger
Are you familiar with the spiritual significance of the rabbit, or hare? Ancient stories tell of Ostara turning her bird messenger into a hare because the bird wasn’t suited to the land and climate. It then became the hare’s job to summon spring, and in memory of her past life as a bird, the hare lays colored eggs at Easter as a symbol of awakening and rebirth. It was also believed that witches once took the form of rabbits to travel undetected. In ancient China, the moon rabbit (or moon hare) is a mythical figure who lives on the Moon. It pounds the elixir of life with a mortar and pestle for the Moon goddess, Chang’e. The opposite of a black cat (although we love black cats at Sage Goddess) is the rabbit crossing your path for good fortune.
