This amulet is more correctly called a Phurba (or Kila). It symbolizes the masculine aspect of creation, and is seen to be a lightning bolt, used to illuminate as well as being an irresistible force cutting through ignorance.

We like to use it to aid Decisiveness, to be dedicated and to overcome obstacles.

It originated from the Himalayan mountains in the animist Bon tribes, before Tibetan Buddhism arrived, and is used in both the Hindu and Buddhist religions to represent dedication and spiritual power.

The kīla may serve to bind and pin down negative energies from the mind stream of an entity or person to administer purification.

It affixes the elemental process of ‘Space’ to the Earth, thereby establishing an energetic continuum.

The kīla, particularly those that are wooden are for shamanic healing, harmonizing and energy work and often have two nāgas (serpents or dragons) entwined on the blade, reminiscent of the Caduceus of Hermes.
