It’s made with two ingredients: Neem flowers and organic mustard oil, and it comes as a loose powder in a black and clear plastic bottle embellished with the Sage Goddess logo along with an application stick inside. The deeper magic of this Black Kohl Eyeliner
Kohl eyeliner has been used since ancient times, dating back to 3100 BCE. This kohl eyeliner was handmade in the traditional Ayurvedic method. Typically, this method has several additions of herbs and oils — but this offering is made with two simple ingredients. First, mustard oil is added to a clay pot. Then, a wick is created from organic, unbleached, untreated cotton and neem flowers. The neem flowers are wrapped in cotton, and the entire wick is dipped in the clay pot of mustard oil. The wick of neem flowers remains in the mustard oil, and the end of the wick is lit on fire. Once the fire has been lit, a bronze bowl is then flipped over and placed on top of the clay pot, acting as a lid. As the wick burns down, consuming the neem flowers and mustard oil, a byproduct collects on the inverted bronze bowl — this is what creates powder kohl eyeliner!
This traditional eyeliner comes as a loose powder contained in a bottle. It also comes with a stick applicator to place the powder in the precise area you desire. To apply this eyeliner, follow the following steps.
- Place the applicator along your water line and gently close your eye on the applicator.
- With your eye still slightly closed, drag the applicator outwards to coat the upper and lower water line with the black powder.
- For a smoky look, apply before bed and sleep in it.
- For a more precise look, apply in the morning.
- For a dramatic flair, drag the applicator further past the water line to create a winged eyeliner look.

Best product I have ever used. My eyes are super sensitive even to eye shadow. This product doesn’t even sting nor burn nor tingle….nothing. great for all day with touch ups in between. No need to remove, just touch up in the morning. Have been using for days since I got it.

I used to wear eyeliner, but stopped because it took too much time and didn’t always work well with my contacts. This liner is VERY EASY to use. I love the look. I usually apply then finish getting ready before popping in my contacts. I have had no problems. It makes me feel sexy when I wear it so I’m wearing it everyday. The container is cute. I don’t mind that it is plastic because I’m more clumsy in the morning. If you are thinking about trying this, go for it!

Eventually, I will buy a brass holder to replace the plastic one this comes with but it feels good knowing the ingredients in the formula and that I’m not putting anything harmful next to my eyes. It smudges more than I was anticipating but I guess that makes sense since it doesn’t have harmful ingredients to make it stay! I was also really pleased by the extra goodies in my package! It makes me want to buy more from sage goddess!

Best eyeliner ever. Pretty easy to put on but so different than what I’m used to. So couple tries to get exactly right but omg love it! Looks great, even better later in day. Or lasts as long as a couple days still looking great it’s amazing. Once you get used to easiest eyeliner to apply EVER! Can put in waterline the one swipe through with eyes closed. Or can put on top of eyelids as well & get a wing both ways. LOVE SO MUCH❤❤❤❤🖤🖤🖤

I have been having major eye makeup issues since menopause and I’m soooo excited that this doesn’t bother me at all! I actually put it on at night and let it smudge and it looks awesome with some smokey shadow. Highly recommend!
