Oud comes from the agarwood tree and is a thick, dark resin that’s formed when the agarwood tree heals itself after being injured. Lily is gentle yet potent, and its bright and clean fragrance serves to relieve sadness, ignite happiness, and impart a sense of security. It’s also associated with powerful spiritual connection. Bakhoor, or bukhoor, is Arabic for a blend of natural traditional ingredients that have been infused with fragrant oils and mixed with other natural ingredients. These are mainly wood chips such as oud, agarwood, or aloeswood. Bakhoor is used in many Asian countries for meditation. It can be found burning in homes and temples.

I’m pretty impressed with this Oud blend and the beautiful jar it came in. I honestly can’t describe the scent. Two of my children were in the room where I burned it and we all described it quite differently. We all agreed however that it was what we would imagine a summer cottage might smell like. So it is definitely dreamy, fresh, slightly floral and oudy. I only burned a small chip and also a bit of copal. It has been a few hours and I can still smell the scent of the Oud lingering. It’s not overpowering but it certainly sticks, which is awesome. And I definitely entered a very relaxed state while the Oud was burning. On to the jar. It is very substantial. I expected something I might throw away after use but whenever I do use up the Oud I will certainly be able to use this jar for other things. It is pretty heavy and more beautiful in person than in pictures. I cannot wait to receive the rose blend. I hardly leave my desk these days. This will make my short breaks so much more relaxing.
