Xiphactus audax, or bulldog fish, is a species of marine life that was present during the late Cretaceous period. Xiphactinus was the largest bony fish of that time and could reach a length of 20 feet or longer. Its fossils have been discovered across the globe — including in the Black Mesa sediments of Arizona.
