Astrology – Childlike Wonder

We will experience a Full Moon in Cancer on January 1st, 2018 at 6:23 PST. Cancer represents nurturing, emotional support, and the giving and receiving of nourishment. It affects how we grow ourselves and contribute to growth in the world around us, making  this luminous Full Moon a perfect time to reap the benefits of self-care. The crab, creature of Cancer, lives and breathes on land and in water, and exemplifying delicate adaptability. The crab represents our need to navigate our own water, the realm of emotions, images, and psyche, while maintaining grounding and stability. The crab also mirrors our infinite cycle of deconstructing and rebuilding our self-image as we constantly change. And just like the crab, we outgrow our shells and experience the fragile process of extricating ourselves and constructing a new outer layer of definition and protection –  hopefully more reflective of the creature we are now becoming. With Cancer and the crab, activation of inner work is central to evolution, and the balance of going within and without is crucial to development.

The Full Moon in Cancer has an especially strong and reactive emotional constitution. Its nature is to activate or initiate emotional and soul experiences. It wants to feel, and it can lose all objectivity in this fast moving, illogical river. Reflecting on this, we would all do well to cut ourselves, and others, some slack. From our Cancerian perspective, we want to feel ok. In fact, ‘feeling ok’ is our barometer for whether or not we are ok. We all have childlike needs and many of these were not met during actual childhood.. Cancer invites each of us to be our own parent, and challenges us to find healthy ways to meet our needs and feed our bodies and souls.

I invite you to join me for our FREE online or in-person Full Moon event on January 2. Let’s receive the manifestation of our intentions, in the light of awareness, and celebrate progress toward our goals together.

Weekly Tarot

The Fool Tarot Card comes forward today, for all of us, representing new beginnings. The Fool is the dawning figure of the Tarot – number Zero in numerological ascension of the cards. He is our protagonist, the star figure of the hero’s (or heroine’s) journey. He is depicted as a young man, walking nonchalantly toward the edge of a cliff. He also has a small, excitable dog companion with him. He holds a white rose in his right hand, and in the other, a knapsack tied to a stick, representing his readiness to gain access to the vaults of knowledge housed in the collective unconscious.

Much like The Fool on his path of knowledge, we are a clean slate – a blank page ready to receive all the lessons taught by everyone we encounter. Like children, we are seeing the world through new eyes,  and every day we are encouraged to enjoy the blessings it has to offer. As we enter 2018, let’s all move with curious,  light-hearted, and refreshed energy.

Weekly Journal – Break-up with Yourself

If you were to write about every memorable moment of this last year, would they collectively carry a central theme? The New Year is a time of new beginnings. However, humans are creatures of habit. What if you were to catalog every major moment of every year, examine their differences, and perhaps more importantly, their similarities. Wouldn’t it, then, be easier to break your Sisyphean battle? To manifest from a place of honestly, you must truly dive deep within yourself, without fear or judgment, to be reborn in the light of the New Year. It is essential that you let go of what no longer serves you, because the manifestation energy of 2018 is so powerful. To truly transform into your best self, I encourage you to avoid entertaining negativity or fears of any kind. Think of what you truly wish to happen, not what you are afraid of or wish to avoid. How do you create space for true transformation?
