The Weekly Sage – Edition 26; Saturday, February 17, 2018

Welcome to the latest edition of the Weekly Sage, an outward and inward look at the week to come. So many of us use Tarot, astrology, and contemplative journaling to support ourselves and each other. We hope this little weekly blog will inspire all of us to think, feel, and transform in bigger ways together. May it unite us by collectively magnifying our personal intentions into a potent source of positive energy, that will spread into our communities and beyond.

Mercury moves from Aquarius into the sign of Pisces, on February 17. The thinking, communicating, reasoning mercurial mind takes a trip out of this world in dreamy Pisces. Pisces is a portal into truth that transcends our versions of reality. If we are brave enough to spend a little time in the fog without moving through too fast, the moment of clarity that follows will be crystal clear. Let your imagination run wild, and find ways to share your vision. As long as you’re careful to keep at least one foot grounded during this time (so as not to lose your foundation), your mind really can expand in joyful, mystical ways. Choose to surrender rigid ways of thinking and limiting beliefs, and allow the great Piscean ocean to wash them away. Your mind is magical – one of your greatest tools. Choose to use it with love, compassion, and grace, for the Highest Good.

The Sun enters Pisces on February 18. Signifying our consciousness, sense of purpose, and how we are meant to shine. The Sun brings us straight to our center, the heart. Infused with the mysteries of Pisces, our Sun will radiate light of imagination, compassion, faith, oneness, Universal Love, Universal Truth, and unlimited potential. Pisces teaches us to discover more truth through feeling deeply, connecting with otherworldly realms, and perceiving beyond our basic senses. It opens us to the Mystery, and all things beyond definition. Non-linear activities really tap us into this energy – music, dance, meditation, journey, dreams, art, poetry.

With Pisces, there are no boundaries, which heightens emotional sensitivity. While the Sun transits Pisces, allow more healing, acceptance, and happiness in your life. The same feeling capacity that brings suffering, brings joy. With Pisces, we feel deeply, and by embodying its highest expression, we hold space for life to unfold, moment by moment, with love. Allow Pisces to radiate within you by allowing your heart and soul to flow freely through and out of your body, however it takes form. It might be a sound, the scribble of an image, or a hug. Pisces calls us to reconnect with the magic of unlimited possibility, love, grace, and compassion.

As we journey through A World of Magic this year, we will choose a variety of Tarot decks for the Weekly Sage, as they correspond with the civilizations we explore. This edition, we are using Aleister Crowley’s Thoth Tarot deck to embrace the secret symbology of Egypt. The Princess of Disks/Pentacles comes forward today, for all of us, representing creation and new birth. She is the priestess of the Earth, determined to physically create and get her hands dirty. The Princess of Disks is anxiously pregnant, ready to produce from the ideas that have been developing for some time. She can quite literally mean the birth of a baby, or restructuring a relationship, learning a new skill, or taking advantage of an opportunity that is offered to you. New plans are ready to materialize, and when the Princess of Disks comes forward, she advises us to be confident. We are ready to grab that opportunity and create new forms of life.

AroMagic Essential Oil of the Week

Thyme essential oil is symbolically and energetically powerful. The plant itself was an emblem of bravery. Thyme oil has long been used to perfume temple spaces and anoint the body. The use of thyme has been classically associated with style and grace. Ladies of the middle-ages would often embroider a scarf with a bee hovering over a spray of thyme as a token of both affection and protection to the chivalric knight of their fancy.

Thyme is a really important herb for the power of remembrance. Thyme is all about supporting the process of releasing and forgiving. Thyme helps us make a choice about which memories we take with us in our lives, empowering us to decide to hold onto the sweet memories of life. Thyme lets us know that we can let go of what is no longer serving us, and that we can always choose to forgive. Thyme asks us: what needs to be sacrificed? What needs to be purified and uplifted?

Weekly Journal

In the month of love, we remember our past relationships and thank them for shaping us into who we are today. We remember the happiness and the pain. We remember the laughs and the tears. We remember our transformation, and we acknowledge how the way we give and receive love has evolved. Throughout every internal battle, our judgment becomes clouded by the chronic evolution of our story – our distorted perspective. This is when doubts in your current relationship become tangible, and the root can often be revealed and solved with one question: have you forgiven yourself? When you haven’t exonerated yourself from situations that you didn’t handle the way you wish you had, or that were out of your control, it haunts you and your future relationships. Everyone has a past, but it’s who we become from those challenging moments in life that truly pave the path for our future. It’s more important to forgive yourself than the one who has wronged you. When you loosen your grip over those memories that have plagued you – when you let go of that baggage – you release your story and make way for a new one. And from that, blossoms your best self. Your transformation begins with you. Your manifestation of something greater starts with your positive intentions. Does your past cloud your judgment?
