The Magic of Minoa 
Part 1
Minoa was perhaps the first and primary society ruled by women. This mysterious civilization thrived on the island of Crete and other Aegean islands, preceding ancient Greece. Minoans were a peaceful civilization; life was simple. Fish was the main source of sustenance as ancient Minoans were intimately connected to the sea. Fruits grew well and were favored, especially olives, figs, and pomegranates. They had four main palace sites all over Crete where export trade and spiritual and political ceremonies occured. Knossos was the main palace that contained the legendary labyrinth where the richest spiritual rituals were held, with only the elite allowed in attendance. Ancient Minoans put great importance upon introspection, respecting their existence, and enjoying sensual enjoyments of the sun, art, pottery, food, and ceremony.
The Snake Goddess is a vivid symbol of this culture and its connection with life force and primal energy. Snake has long been associated with healing, transition, and transformation. It is a bridge between worlds and carries profound spiritual wisdom. Snake sheds its skin as it grows. During its shedding, it is vulnerable, and its eyes cloud over for 3 to 4 days, but it re-emerges whole. The Snake Goddess of Minoa embodies the power of change, including spiritual and physical metamorphosis. All of us carry this same power – the ability to release and renew ourselves.
The Minoan Goddess in her butterfly form stands for transformation in all its stages, and celebrates rebirth inherent to the process. The butterfly’s cycle, from egg to caterpillar and chrysalis, into its delicate wings of endurance, mirrors our soul’s evolution, and the cycles of life. We all transform and shapeshift, becoming more of our true selves. Through periods of dissolving, as the caterpillar in the cocoon, we surrender our current form to alchemize in miraculous new ways. No part of us is lost, but the new version can look and feel drastically different. Just as we imagine it does for the butterfly emerging anew, on wings that will carry it across the sky, across the world.
It’s unclear why the Minoan period ended. Mystery beckons us forward, reminding us of our own mystery. Minoa reconnects us with our ability to transform, leaving only traces of evidence to what we once were. We, just as she, can change, appear, and disappear.
Minoa, and its sacred symbols lead us to descend into the depths of the void, the center of ourselves, to come out renewed, enlightened, and whole.
Part 2 
Stones for Entering the Void
What is the void? The void is you – your wisdom, mystery and magic. Stones for Entering the Void were chosen with great intention. Those who choose to descend deeper within themselves are brave in their self-discovery, willing to confront their fears and reveal more truth. They uncover wisdom about the universe and themselves that will change their lives. These five stones work together to help you enter the space of yourself – the space that is greater, deeper, and richer than you can ever imagine. These stones will be your allies on a journey within yourself, down to your center, to help you reclaim more of your true self and emerge renewed.
The labyrinth represents life; the path of life, and is where you go to find yourself. In classical mythology, the labyrinth at Knossos in Crete was created to imprison the Minotaur. What does this represent, how can we find meaning that help us right now? The half beast, half man Minotaur stands for our basic nature and primal fears, especially of the unknown. When we can’t see or understand, we are afraid. Our unconscious, shadow, and fate seem threatening. To face your Minotaur is your hero’s journey, and you will find countless gifts and treasures on your way.
Are you ready to face your inner Minotaur in your own labyrinth? Unlike mazes, labyrinths have no dead-ends or choices along the way – your only choice is whether or not to enter and trust the path. Sometimes you will walk along the edges of your intricate labyrinth, with ample sunlight. You will reach the very center, the void, and you will experience your eternal existence in the darkness. At times, you will be joined by others, walking the path together. At turns, you will find yourself alone. Your labyrinth holds everything, and you are your labyrinth.
You pause at the entrance of a great, ancient labyrinth, knowing the Minotaur is within. The choice to enter is yours. There is no way to know where you will go or how you will get there. You make the leap of faith. You are in. You shed your skin along the way, releasing layers you no longer need; protection you’ve outgrown. With a brave heart, you continue following the path. Everything feels strangely familiar. And you realize you have finally met yourself. Part of you wants to stay, but that is not your destiny. You will come out, back into the world, transformed. Renewed wisdom, wholeness, and truest beauty will be yours.

Indigo gabbro, also called mystic merlinite, is the stone of the magician – the wizardry stone that reveals ancient mysteries and channels elder spirits. The bullhorns symbolize your fear and your courage. They stand for the fear of what you may face deep within your being, and your courage to confront, engage, keep moving, and overcome. The Minoan butterfly symbolizes the transformation we all go through. As you are traveling down to the center of the labyrinth, imagine you are the caterpillar descending to the unknown, and the unknown is your chrysalis at the heart of the labyrinth. In your chrysalis, you dissolve, temporarily free from form. Finding more of your true essence, you change into the being you are to become. Snakes represent the Minoan Goddess’ role as a bridge between worlds, her access to infinite spiritual wisdom, and her ultimate power of transformation — to magically create and re-create both herself and others.
The majestic lily was found painted on walls and pottery found on the Island of Crete dating back to Minoan times. It was an emblem of nobility, symbolizing the ability to bloom into what you can become. Lilies represent glorious re-beginnings and rebirth and are depicted on this grid to represent the beauty of what you can bloom into after your journey into the void.
