The Weekly Sage – Edition 29; Saturday, March 10, 2018

Welcome to the latest edition of The Weekly Sage, an outward and inward look at the week to come. So many of us use Tarot, astrology, and contemplative journaling to support ourselves and each other. We hope this little weekly blog will inspire all of us to think, feel, and transform in bigger ways together. May it unite us by collectively magnifying our personal intentions into a potent source of positive energy, that will spread into our communities and beyond.

Due to the dense cosmic activity that is approaching us within a week, the Universe is giving us a break to recharge. Jupiter, the planet of beliefs, confidence, intuition, and truth turned retrograde on March 8th, signifying a period of reviewing, re-defining, and re-evaluating our personal truths and life philosophies. What do you believe in? Are you living it? Is the path you take through life reflective of the wisdom you hold to be true? Jupiter expands everything it touches, for better or worse. It is like a giant flashlight that allows us to see more, to appreciate the bigger picture. Until July 10, when Jupiter turns direct, we are well advised to reexamine what we’ve put our faith in, and whether or not it aligns with our intuition.

As we journey through A World of Magic this year, we are choosing a variety of Tarot and oracle decks for the Weekly Sage, as they correspond with the civilizations we explore. This edition, we are using Whispers of Lord Ganesha deck by Angela Hartfield, to embrace the sacred symbology of India. The Queen of Pentacles comes forward today, for all of us, representing stamina. She has a strong connection to herself, and the natural earth. She is nurturing, yet structured. Think of a mother who raises her children with “tough love”. The Queen of Pentacles teaches us to be independent in thought, with our emotions, and our careers. She also encourages us to find a strong balance between our work and home life, and to take responsibility for our own self-care. Through our successes, she also asks us to be down-to-earth, generous, and compassionate with those around us. Throughout the month of Aries (March 20 – April 18), the Queen of Pentacles presents new opportunities to better ourselves. She personifies the earth sign of Capricorn, which makes her authoritative, yet traditional and feminine. She is a leader who understands that in order to bloom, we must first value ourselves, and proceed with maturity toward what we are to become.

AroMagic Essential Oil of the Week

Narcissus essential oil is simply magical. Narcissus is a figure from Greek mythology who fell in love with his own image reflected in a pool of water – even the lovely nymph Echo could not manage to tempt him from his self-absorption. Today, Narcissus’ name lives on as the flower into which he was transformed, and narcissus essential oil is used for its myriad of healing properties. This oil provides a strong boost in confidence and power, and is also a wonderful tool for relieving feelings of anxiety and stress. When you work with narcissus oil, you will experience enhanced passion and creativity, and will feel your consciousness powerfully expanding.

Have you ever seen an image of the difference between a boss and a leader floating around the internet? A boss directs from a chariot, while everyone else battles on foot. A leader is on foot alongside his/her team, pushing forward into the battle. Leaders inspire and bring hope, while encouraging everyone around to become stronger and better. They are innovative and fair; delegating and committed. They don’t follow trends, rather invent new ones. Leaders listen to their intuition, and live their highest truth. That is how they benefit themselves, and others in return. They are the motion that helps the world turn, and they start with honoring themselves first. Leaders are driven by their dreams, and the courage to see them through. To lead, you don’t have to manage a group of people – you are only responsible for driving yourself, loving yourself, being independent in your own thought, and fair through your actions. Are you fair to yourself, and those around you? Do you lift people up? Are you a leader?

Big Question:
